India's Top Sommeliers taste Armenian Wines


On December 17, the Embassy of Armenia in New Delhi in collaboration with the Vine and Wine Foundation of Armenia organized a wine tasting event at the editorial office of the Sommelier India Magazine, which is one of the largest specialized wine publications in Asia. India's top Sommeliers, hoteliers, wine enthusiasts  and industry experts had an opportunity to assess  a wide range of Armenian wines. Editor-in-Chief of Sommelier India Magazine Reva K. Singh and Ambassador of Armenia to India Armen Martirosyan welcomed the guests.

The leading expert of the Wine and Wine Foundation of Armenia Syuzanna Mkrtchyan presented Armenian wines as well as the potential of Armenian winemaking, spicing her speech with interesting historical references on birth of winemaking in Armenia.

Next day, the representatives of leading wine importing and distributing companies of India attended the presentation of Armenian wines and wine tasting at the Embassy chancery. The large variety of Armenian wines was introduced to the Indian importers, who in their turn spoke about peculiarities and current trends of the Indian wine market. Ideas were exchanged on further steps to introduce Armenian wines in India.
