Visit of Ambassador A. Martirosyan to Gujarat Technological University

On September 13, Ambassador of Armenia Armen Martirosyan visited Ahmedabad upon invitation of Gujarat Technological University, where he participated in the program dedicated to the 24th Anniversary of the Independence Day of the Republic of Armenia.

The event was attended by the faculty, students of the University and representatives of the Gujarat Chambers of Commerce. After performance of national anthems of both the courtiers, Director of the Centre of Excellence of the University Prof. N.K. Goyal delivered the inaugural address, which was followed by welcome speech of Ambassador Martirosyan.

The official ceremony was followed by presentation of study about the Republic of Armenia prepared by the students of the university and a debate. It showcased comprehensive information about Armenian culture and history, including the Genocide of 1915, and current socio-economic situation in the country. Based on the results of study, the students recommended several areas of possible economic cooperation between Armenia and India. In conclusion Ambassador Martirosyan presented his remarks.

After the event, Ambassador Martirosyan held working discussion with the University leadership. He touched upon the prospects of cooperation with Armenian Universities within the framework of mutually interesting education and research program.
