VISA for citizens of India

Visa is required

Nationals of India holding ordinary passports can obtain visas to Armenia:

1. THROUGH THE E-VISA SYSTEM, if they have the following mandatory documents:

  • Travel (Medical) Insurance
  • A valid residence permit or valid visa issued by the EU and Schengen member states, the USA, Australia, New Zealand, the Republic of Korea, the UK, Canada, the RF, or Japan, or a valid residence permit issued by the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain or Oman.

 or

  • Travel (Medical) Insurance
  • Air ticket reservation (with return**)
  • Invitation provided by a party interested in the applicant’s visit to the Republic of Armenia (local tourist agency, university, employer, other local companies, and entities).
  • Proof of financial means (bank statement for the last 3 months, certificate of employment with salary, work contract, other proofs)

 

** A one-way air ticket is sufficient for individuals arriving for educational or work purposes or under other justified cases.

 

2. AT THE BORDER OF ARMENIA, if they provide a valid residence permit or valid visa issued by the EU and Schengen member states, the USA, Australia, New Zealand, the Republic of Korea, the UK, Canada, the RF, or Japan or a valid residence permit (physical card or sticker) issued by the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain or Oman.

 

3. AT THE ARMENIAN EMBASSIES

Required documents

  • Passport* (travel document)
  • Visa Application* and Photo (3,5x4.5cm)
  • Travel (Medical) insurance*
  • Invitation* provided by a party interested in the applicant’s visit to the Republic of Armenia (local tourist agency, university, employer, other local companies, and entities).
  • Proof of financial means* (bank statement for the last 3 months, certificate of employment with salary, work contract, other proofs)
  • Air ticket reservation* (with return**)
  • Consular fee*
  • A copy of passport pages containing visas or residence permits obtained during the past 3 years
  • Hotel reservation
  • Other documents

 

* Mandatory documents.

** A one-way air ticket is sufficient for individuals arriving for educational or work purposes or under other justified cases.

 

 

The passport must be valid for the entire period of stay in Armenia.  

It is recommended to apply for E-VISA. Processing time is three working days.

Temporary Visa Exemption

The nationals of 111 countries who hold a valid residence permit issued by the United States of America, European Union Member States, Schengen Area States, the United Arab Emirates, the Kingdom of Bahrain, the State of Qatar, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the State of Kuwait, or the Sultanate of Oman, and whose residence permit is valid for at least six months from the date of entry into the Republic of Armenia, are exempt from the visa requirement starting from July 1, 2026 to July 1, 2027. They can stay in the territory of the Republic of Armenia without a visa for up to 180 days within a one-year period.

Additional requirements:

  • The residence permit must be presented either as a physical card or as a sticker placed on the passport.
  • The border authorities may recognize the residence permit if it contains, in Latin script, the title of the document, the foreign national’s given name, surname, and nationality, as well as the date of birth and document validity period, indicated according to the Gregorian calendar (e.g., 18.06.2027 or 18 JUN 2027).
