Meeting of Ambassador A. Martirosyan with the Vice President of India

On October 12, Ambassador of Armenia to India Armen Martirosyan met with the Vice President of the Republic of India and the chairman of the Rajya Sabha (Upper House of the Parliament) of India Mohammad Hamid Ansari.

During the meeting the two sides noted the continuous development and strengthening of Armenian-Indian relations. Upon request of the Vice President of India, Ambassador Martirosyan presented the settlement process of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, relations of the Republic of Armenia with neighboring countries and the overall situation in the region. The Vice President of India expressed hope for the peaceful resolution of Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

Speaking about trade and economic relations, the two sides stressed the existing potential and emphasized the need for efforts aimed at further expansion and deepening of bilateral cooperation.

M.H. Ansari, referring to the cultural cooperation, highlighted the historical importance of Armenian Community in India and emphasized the traditional ties between Armenian and Indian people going into the depth of centuries.
