Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi approves proposal of Armenian Ambassador

On January 19, Ambassador of Armenia Armen Martirosyan met with the Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi Manish Sisodia and presented him the idea of developing a park by members of the diplomatic community accredited in New Delhi. It is known that in the recent years the Indian capital has emerged as the world's most air polluted city, which has become a serious cause for concern both for the city's residents and the visitors. In this connection, local and international media regularly publishes various guides and recommendations aimed at improving the current situation. In September 2015 Ambassador Martirosyan published an article in the largest English daily The Hindustan Times on the subject of the extension of green belts of the capital city by developing a park with the joined efforts of the Delhi based diplomatic community.

Ambassador Masrtirosyan informed M. Sisosia that the Embassy is prepared to work with experts and present the project for the consideration of the diplomatic community once it is approved by the concerned municipal authorities. Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi M. Sisosia thanked Ambassador of Armenia for his initiative and, approving the idea in principle, promised to suggest the name of the specialist in the coming days for discussion of the organizational and technical aspects of the implementation of the project.
