On July 31, the senior lieutenant of the Armenian Armed Forces Sargis Gabrielyan arrived at Kolkata's Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport, accompanied by his sister Lusine Gabrielyan. Senior lieutenant Gabrielyan, who lost his right arm protecting his motherland, will undergo arm prostheses fitting at one of the best medical facilities in India. The treatment is fully sponsored by the Armenian Holy Church of Nazareth.

At the airport S. Gabrielyan was received by the representatives of  the Embassy of Armenia in India,  Armenian Church Committee and Armenian College and Philanthropic Academy.

On the same day, the Armenian College hosted luncheon in honour of the guests from Armenia, which was attended by the committee members of the Armenian Holy Church of Nazareth, embassy representative, school teachers and students.  Pastor of Indian-Armenian Spiritual Pastorate, Manager of Armenian College and Philanthropic Academy and Davidian Girls’ School of Kolkata Very Reverend Father Movses Sargsyan welcomed the guests and wished speedy recovery and enjoyable stay in Kolkata. Students of the college performed patriotic  songs and recited poems. The guests also participated at the birthday celebrations of college students.

Throughout  the course of his treatment, S. Gabrielyan and his sister will stay at the Armenian College and Philanthropic Academy, where currently many students from Armenia and Diaspora pursue their secondary education.
