Ambassador Martirosyan Visits Education Complex for Tribal Children in Odisha

On February 17, Ambassador of Armenia Armen Martirosyan visited the largest residential education centre for tribal children - Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS), upon invitation of its founder Prof. Achyuta Samanta.

The institute provides free food, accommodation, health care and education from kindergarten to post graduation to 25,000 tribal children. Along with the formal education, vocational training is an important part of the curriculum at KIIS. The best students get an opportunity to continue their education at the Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) founded by A.Samantha, where more than 27,000 students currently pursue their professional education in over 100 disciplines.

During the visit, Ambassador Martirosyan met with the faculty and the students of the institute. He also visited the Faculty of Biotechnology of the KIIT and got acquainted with its educational and research activities. Ambassador A.Martirosyan and Prof. A. Samanta have rached an understanding on future cooperation.
