Kolkata’s Armenian school is 196 year old

On April 02 Ambassador of Armenia to India Armen Martirosyan participated at the celebration of the 196th anniversary of the foundation of the Armenian College and Philanthropic Academy and Davidian Girls’ Schoolof Kolkata.

The representatives of the Armenian Community in Kolkata, Archbishop of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese Most Rev.Thomas D`Souza and principals of several renowned schools of Kolkata graced the occasion. The students of the school enchanted the audience with their performance of a poetic drama in Armenian, adapted from the literary work of Hovhannes Tumanyan, “Tmbkaberdi Arum”, which was followed by a concert.

The guests delivered their congratulatory messages, while the manager of the Armenian College Very Rev. Fr. Movses Sargsyan informed the audience on the programs carries out at the school during the last year as well as the future development projects.
