27th anniversary of independence of Armenia celebrated in Chennai

21 September, 2018

On September 21, the Embassy of Armenia in India, Honorary Consulate of Armenia in Chennai and Federation of Indian industries jointly organised a reception dedicated to the 27th anniversary of Armenia’s independence. The event was attended by the state government officials, Consul Generals of Russia, Germany and Spain, diplomats, artists and various entrepreneurs from the state of Tamil Nadu. Ambassador of Armenia Armen Martirosyan and Honorary Consul Shivkumar Eashwaran addressed the gathering with welcome speech.

A documentary film about Armenia was screened. The attendees discussed the advantages of the investment climate in Armenia and exchanged views on the activation of business ties between the two countries. A book titled "India-Armenia: So Far yet So Close " by the former Ambassador of India to Armenia Achal Malhotra was launched within the framework of the event. The book was published under the sponsorship of the Honorary Consul of Armenia in Chennai Shivkumar Eashwaran.
