WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control held at Delhi

On November 07-12, the Seventh Session of the Conference of the Parties to the WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control took place at New Delhi. Ambassador of Armenia to India Armen Martirosyan was accredited to take part at the convention.

During five-day event the representatives of member states and numerous non-governmental organizations discussed a number of draft resolutions, which aim to clarify and tighten tobacco control mechanisms. In the context of the issue under consideration, special attention was paid to the possible ways of restricting the tobacco use among the most vulnerable groups like children, women and youth.

As a result of the discussions held during the Seventh Session of the Conference of the Parties to the WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control, New Delhi Declaration was adopted.
