The alumnus of the Armenian College gives back

04 February, 2020

On February 03, Armenian College and Philanthropic Academy of Kolkata celebrated the opening of the new computer complex sponsored by its proud alumnus, the Australian-Armenian businessman and philanthropist Avetis Tevanyan.

After graduating from the Academy, Tevanyan received his engineering degree from India’s top university - Indian Institute of Technology (IIT). In 1984 he moved to Australia, where he established a family-owned construction firm called AVOPILING. Today AVOPILING is one of Australia's leading construction companies, occupying a unique position in the Australian piling and foundation marketplace and implementing the most complex engineering projects in the country.

The students of the Academy welcomed Mr Tevanayan with performances of Armenian songs. The Manager of the Armenian College Rev. Father Movses Sargsyan and Ambassador Armen Martirosyan welcomed the guests at the special event.
